Hurricane Katrina relief

Kelly Preston and husband John Travolta flew down to Louisiana to deliver medical supplies and five tons of food for victims of Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Travolta, an experienced pilot, piloted their 707 filled with supplies to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where they both toured the flooded city of New Orleans and visited rescue workers and shelters for evacuees. The couple also brought along 400 doses of vaccines for rescue workers. By coordinating with Oprah Winfrey, John and Kelly were able to get even more relief for the more than one million people affected by one of the worst storms in U.S. history.
