Mission of St. Vincents: Order of Cornette Award

In February 2008, Kelly Preston and John Travolta were awarded the “Order of Cornette Award,” at the Red Rose Ball in Jacksonville, Florida for their generosity of spirit and for making the Red Rose Ball the most successful event in the 92 year history of the hospital. St. Vincent’s Mission is to turn no one away and “Service of the Poor” is their first core value.

In 1633, St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac, (Founders of the Daughters of Charity) established the “Mission of St. Vincents,” which instilled core values such as, Service to the poor, Reverence, Integrity, Wisdom, Creativity, and Dedication. This organization has formed the structure for the finest medical care available anywhere in the world.

The Red Rose Ball event was the biggest in Jacksonville history. 1.2 million dollars was raised for the Neonatal Care Facility.
